YOU are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information we use to prepare your return, and having adequte DOCUMENTATION to support what is reported.

WE will advise you on income tax matters as to which you specifically reuest our advice on the tax law and how to document what is reported to Government agencies.

The Firm is responsible for preparing only the returns listed above.  We will not audit or verify the data you submit, although we may ask you to clarify it, or furnish us with additional information.

The fee you pay to us does not include responding to Internal Revenue Service or New York State inquiries. The client understands the tax preparer is not responsible for Internal Revenue Service disallowance of deductions, nor for resulting taxes, penalties, or interest.

We may respond to inquiries on your behalf, or we may pay penalties or interest (but not the additional tax) if the penalties and interest arise from our error. That will be at our sole discretion.

If there are conflicting authorities, we will attempt to resolve conflits in the taxpayer's favor.  We will, under no circumstances, advise taking a position that does not have substantial authority AND has a greater that 25% chance of disallowance upon audit.

You are confirming that you will furnish us with all the information required t prepare the returns.

We will also use our professional judgement in preparing your returns. Whenever we are aware that a possibly applicable tax law is unclear or that there are conflicting interpretations of the law by authorities (eg. tax agancies and courts) we will explain the possible positions that maybe taken on your return. In accordance with our professional standards, we will follow whatever position you request, as long as it is consistent with the codes, regulations, and interpretations that have been promulgated. If the Internal Revenue Service should later contest the position taken, there may be an assessment of additional tax plus interest and penalties. We assume mo liability for any such additional penalties or assessments.
